By September 8, 20191 min read

The Class Intercom team is excited to be attending the annual #Digital4Good conference on Monday, September 16th at Facebook HQ.  We will be joined by highly engaged students, industry leaders and educators who are all focused on empowering positive tech and media use.

Two years ago, Grand Island Northwest graduate Mitch Fisher had the opportunity to attend this conference. Fisher, who is now a student at the University of Nebraska Lincoln, was nominated for the recognition by his teacher, Heather Callihan who noted the positivity he created through his Twitter profile, @ginwshipyard, promoting student spirit through motivational messaging for Northwest High School. After she noticed the influence his Twitter presence had on the student body, Callihan invited Fisher to join the Northwest High School student-driven social media program and to bring along his Twitter profile. We are thrilled that Mitch had the opportunity to attend in 2017 and can’t wait to see what this year will bring.

Guest speakers and school faculty will join us in celebrating student voice and digital leadership. The conference will feature a fast-paced mix of presentations, panels, and videos being showcased at our third annual #Digital4Good awards. Nominated by their peers, these students work with faculty to develop plans to engage the student body and spread positive messages on social media. The folks at #ICANHELP realize the value of these conversations and want to extend those projects to the greater community. #Digital4Good had over 1.5 million impressions across social media in 2018 showing that students are making a difference.

If you cannot attend the event, there will be a Live stream (9am PST – 2:30 PST) link posted here so that you can tune in no matter your location. For more information and to register for the live stream, click HERE.
