Challenging Students to Learn and Create
The Content Generation Social Media Challenge (powered by Class Intercom) provides student teams from schools across the country a unique chance to compete. Student teams execute a series of social media content creation challenges, putting their creativity and collaborative storytelling skills to the test as they work to convey ideas, share information, and create compelling content in a quick, three hour event.
The result is a uniquely collaborative and challenging environment that reflects the learning, growth, and innovation happening through student content creation in unique ways.

Team Structure
Ten teams of five to eight students each, representing schools and districts across the country.
Location
This is a completely virtual event, so student teams can compete from anywhere. We encourage teams to gather in a classroom or other shared school space to make creating and collaborating easy.
Registration
There is a $50 registration fee per team to compete. Your registration fee goes directly toward the Content Kit shipped to your school with swag and resources for the competition.

What is the Content Generation Social Media Challenge?
The Content Generation Social Media Challenge is a national virtual social media and content creation competition for student teams. During the three-hour event, teams complete and submit creative challenges designed to test their storytelling, collaboration and digital content skills.
Who can participate?
The challenge is designed for student content creators and students interested in social media, storytelling, journalism, photography, video and other forms of digital communication. Teams should include 5–8 students.
Does my school need to use Class Intercom to participate?
No! The Content Generation Social Media Challenge is open to all schools, whether or not you currently use Class Intercom.
During the competition, students will use Class Intercom to submit their content through The Content Generation account for publishing and scoring. Registered students will receive login credentials before the event, along with training and resources so they know exactly what to expect and are ready to create on challenge day.
Is there a fee to participate?
Registration is $50 per team. The registration fee goes directly toward the Content Kit mailed to participating schools for use during the challenge.
What is in the Content Kit?
Your team’s kit will contain some fun swag items and resources to use during the event.
How are winners chosen?
Entries will be judged based on creativity, relevance to the theme, technical proficiency, and impact. Winners will be recognized and awarded with trophies, medals, and prizes.
Is an adult sponsor required to accompany student teams?
Yes. Each team must be accompanied by an adult sponsor in order to participate.
