Join Class Intercom’s Quill & Scroll Chapter

Earn recognition for excellence in student content creation and storytelling.

What is Quill and Scroll?

Quill and Scroll is an international honor society for high school journalists with more than 1.5 million members. Founded in 1926 at the University of Iowa, the organization exists to recognize and encourage excellence in scholastic journalism across all types of media, including newspapers, yearbooks, magazines, broadcast, and digital platforms.

The organization is built on eight guiding principles that reflect the highest standards of student journalism: Truth, Leadership, Loyalty, Initiative, Integrity, Judgment, Friendship, and Learning.

About the Class Intercom Chapter

In 2022, Class Intercom established its own Quill and Scroll chapter to recognize outstanding student content creators. Our chapter is open to students nationwide who demonstrate excellence in digital storytelling, editing, photography, copywriting, and social media management.

What makes our chapter unique is the opportunity for students to not only be honored for their work, but also given an opportunity to create and publish content for a professional brand. Students may contribute blog posts, social media content, and some have been invited on as guests on our “The Content Generation Podcast”. These real-world publishing opportunities provide valuable experience and can strengthen résumés, college applications, and portfolios—especially for students pursuing careers in journalism, marketing, communications, or media.
